Clark is co-editor and author (with Nancy Hayward) of Talking Appalachian: Voice, Identity, and Community (University Press of Kentucky) and co-director of the Center for Appalachian Studies at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, Salon, Appalachian Review, and Crab Orchard Review and on NPR, and was recognized as notable in Best American Essays. She is co-host of “Southern Salon: a Podcast about Culture & Communication.”
